Tokyo, May 18 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000061602) titled 'Development and Evaluation of a Joystick-Type Game Controller for One-Handed Game Operation' on May 17.
Study Type:
Interventional
Study Design:
Basic Design - Single arm
Randomization - Non-randomized
Blinding - Open -no one is blinded
Control - Self control
Primary Sponsor:
Institute - Hokkaido University of Science
Condition:
Condition - Upper limb functional impairment
Classification by malignancy - Others
Genomic information - NO
Objective:
Narrative objectives1 - The purpose of this study is to develop a prototype joystick-type game controller to support one-handed operation and to evaluate its operability and practical usability in comparison with a one-handed operation assistive device developed in a previous study.
Basic objectives2 - Efficacy
Intervention:
Interventions/Control_1 - Participants will use two types of one-handed operation support input devices, the previous prototype and the newly developed prototype, and will perform specified operation tasks presented on a PC screen. The specified operations include button presses and stick tilting, and participants will execute the presented operations as quickly as possible. After practice with each prototype, participants will complete test trials, and the time required to perform each specified operation and the accuracy rate will be recorded. To reduce order effects, participants will be assigned to start with either the previous prototype or the newly developed prototype, and the order of device use will be counterbalanced.
