Tokyo, Sept. 20 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000059137) titled 'Effects of Active vs Passive Cool-Down on Oxidative Stress After Exercise: Randomized Crossover Trial' on Sept. 19.

Study Type: Interventional

Study Design: Basic Design - Cross-over Randomization - Randomized Blinding - Open -no one is blinded Control - No treatment

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Health Science University

Condition: Condition - Not applicable (healthy adults) Classification by malignancy - Others Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - To examine whether active vs passive cool-down after exercise differentially affects the recovery of oxidative stress markers (d-ROMs, BAP, OSI) in a randomized crossover design. Basic objectives2 - Others

Intervention: Interventions/Control_1 - Immediately after the graded exercise test, perform 10 minutes of light-load pedaling (approximately 20 W on a bicycle ergometer, aiming for 60 rpm). Each participant was assigned to one of two periods and two sequences (AB or BA). After a washout period of at least 7 days, the other condition was performed. The test time was standardized within the range of 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and kept consistent for each individual. Pre-test restrictions were standardized: no exercise for 24 hours, no alcohol for 24 hours, no caffeine for 12 hours, at least 3 hours after eating, and adequate hydration. Interventions/Control_2 - Immediately after incremental exercise, participants underwent 10 min of seated passive rest. All other procedures (sequence, washout, timing window, pre-test restrictions) were identical to AC.

Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 18 years-old = Gender - Male Key inclusion criteria - Healthy young men Able to safely perform the exercise test and cool-down interventions (AC/PC) Provided written informed consent Key exclusion criteria - History of cardiovascular, metabolic, or respiratory disease Acute infection/inflammation or musculoskeletal conditions limiting exercise Current smokers or regular medication use (including high-dose antioxidant supplements) Any condition judged by investigators to interfere with participation Target Size - 12

Recruitment Status: Recruitment status - Completed Date of protocol fixation - 2021 Year 10 Month 15 Day Date of IRB - 2021 Year 10 Month 15 Day Anticipated trial start date - 2021 Year 11 Month 01 Day Last follow-up date - 2021 Year 12 Month 24 Day
