Tokyo, Oct. 21 -- UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN-CTR) received information related to the study (UMIN000063354) titled 'Effects of rhythmic auditory stimulation on gait variability and gait performance' on Oct. 21.

Study Type: Interventional

Study Design: Basic Design - Parallel Randomization - Randomized Blinding - Open -no one is blinded Control - No treatment

Primary Sponsor: Institute - Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare

Condition: Condition - Healthy adults Classification by malignancy - Others Genomic information - NO

Objective: Narrative objectives1 - To compare the effects of four rhythmic auditory stimulation conditions (no cue, isochronous rhythm, random rhythm, and 1/f fluctuating rhythm) on the temporal structure of gait variability and gait performance in healthy adults. Basic objectives2 - Efficacy

Intervention: Interventions/Control_1 - Participants wear a right lower-limb orthosis throughout all walking tasks. After a 2-minute baseline walking assessment, participants walk on a treadmill for 15 minutes at an individually determined speed based on baseline walking data. No rhythmic auditory cue is provided in this group. Interventions/Control_2 - Participants wear a right lower-limb orthosis throughout all walking tasks. After a 2-minute baseline walking assessment, participants walk on a treadmill for 15 minutes while listening to an isochronous rhythmic auditory cue generated from baseline walking data. Participants are instructed to synchronize their steps with the cue as much as possible.

Eligibility: Age-lower limit - 19 years-old = Gender - Male and Female Key inclusion criteria - Healthy adults enrolled at Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare Able to walk independently Able to walk in synchronization with a rhythmic cue Able to provide written informed consent after receiving an explanation of the study Key exclusion criteria - History of neurological disease Lower-limb orthopedic disease or pain Dizziness or vestibular disorders Visual or hearing impairment that may interfere with the walking tasks Target Size - 72

Recruitment Status: Recruitment status - Preinitiation Date of protocol fixation - 2026 Year 10 Month 20 Day Anticipated trial start date - 2026 Year 11 Month 15 Day Last follow-up date - 2028 Year 03 Month 31 Day
