Stage: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress performance in starting an engine from deteriorating and secure controllability of a friction fastening element, in executing a travelling mode using the engine at the time of starting a hybrid vehicle.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle 1 comprises a first clutch CL1 (friction fastening element) provided between an engine 2 and a motor 4, and a mechanical oil pump 17 that is driven by the motor 4 to supply the first clutch with oil. A controller 20 makes a starter 3 start the engine and then activates the motor, in order to execute a second travelling mode using the engine, if a first travelling mode using the motor cannot be executed at the time of starting the vehicle, and performs hydraulic pressure control by which hydraulic pressure is applied to the first clutch so that the first clutch is transferred from a released state to a fastened state.
