Stage: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron scrap mass melting apparatus which has reduced CO2 exhaust.SOLUTION: An induction furnace is used instead of an arc furnace. A low frequency preheating tower is removably installed above a high frequency induction melting furnace for the reduction of electric power and a refractory basic unit as the fundamental problems of the furnace. The output of the preheating tower is controlled to about 50% of the output of the melting furnace, and preheating is efficiently executed to a curie point. Melting efficiency improves by 50%. Compared to a preceding example of integrated preheating and melting (patent document 2), refractory consumption is exceedingly reduced, and the refractory basic unit is further reduced according to the efficiency improvement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 (Grant)
