TOKYO, Aug. 28 -- Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) issued the following news release:
On August 28, commencing at 10:00 for approximately 15 minutes, Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru received a courtesy call from Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Rt Hon John Healey MP, who is visiting Japan.
At the outset, Prime Minister Ishiba expressed his heartfelt welcome upon the visit of UK Carrier Strike Group 25 (CSG25) led by HMS Prince of Wales to Japan as it demonstrates further advancement of Japan-UK defense cooperation and also demonstrates the UK's unwavering commitment to the Indo-Pacific region.
Secretary Healey expressed his gratitude for the acceptance of the CSG25, and expressed his pleasure that Japan-UK defense cooperative relation has become closer than ever.
Under the recognition that security of Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific is inseperable, both sides exchanged views on Japan-UK defense cooperation and exchanges and concurred to further strengthen the bilateral defense cooperation in various areas.
