TOKYO, Aug. 16 -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issued the following news release:
On August 16, regarding the damages caused by the flood in the northern part of India, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, issued the following message of condolences to H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India.
"I am deeply saddened to learn that many precious lives were lost in the flood that occurred in the northern part of India.
I pray for the souls of the victims and extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I also offer my heartfelt prayers for the early recovery of the injured."
