On July 2nd, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Matsumoto attended the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) held in Sevilla, Spain, and delivered a statement on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows.
Vice-Minister Matsumoto emphasized the urgent need for international cooperation and swift action in response to the unprecedented multifaceted crises facing the world. He stressed the importance of addressing these challenges based on the principle of "human security."
He further highlighted the necessity of national self-reliance supported by international solidarity, the strengthening of domestic and private sector resource mobilization, and the promotion of development finance guided by transparent and equitable rules and guidelines. Vice-Minister Matsumoto reaffirmed Japan's continued strong commitment to achieving the SDGs under the principle of human security.
