TOKYO, Sept. 29 -- Japan Patent Office issued the following press release:
The Japan Patent Office (JPO) Commissioner KASAI Yasuyuki and Deputy Commissioner YASUDA Futoshi held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Antonio Campinos, President of the European Patent Office (EPO), on Monday, September 29, 2025. During the meeting they shared the latest trends in the use of IT and AI in their offices, and also discussed future cooperation between the two offices in forums such as IP5 and the Trilateral Offices.
In addition, both sides agreed to extend the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) concluded between them in 2019 for two more years, until 2027. Taking this opportunity, the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation in areas such as the use of IT and AI, and will actively share their knowledge and expertise.
